Pentland Hounds was founded in 2023 by myself, Paul.
I’ve always loved animals, growing up we always had dogs & a group of cats at home and spent my weekends at the stables with horses. Growing up this has carried on and currently have a 5 year old male Labrador ,Lochlann, two female 15 yr old Siamese cats Saskia and Mya.
My intention growing up had always been to work with animals but life and necessity took over, entered and ran my family’s business in the motor trade for the last 25 years
When working in my old role I ended up living for the weekends were I could go hill walking around different parts of Scotland with my dog and watching the joy it gave him.
I also noticed how hard it was to give that needed special attention to my animals when working a demanding full time job. I am now in the fortunate position where I can now go back to my true passion of working with animals and give others the extra attention I knew would have been so beneficial to my own pets.
It’s very important for me that both you and your furry friend can trust me and feel comfortable so I always meet beforehand to chat and get to know you and your pet with no obligation to use my services.
We are fully insured, registered with Edinburgh council as a professional dog walker, have completed svq qualifications in dog first aid and have Disclosure Scotland check for your peace of mind.
Certificates can be shown at the meet and greet or upon request.
Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s Dog First Aid courses provide an ITC certification and are SQA accredited. They are endorsed by both Braid Vets and Abercorn Vets.
